Abby Jacobsen (she/her), LMSW
Abby is a Licensed Master Social Worker in Maryland with a background in behavioral work with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, school-based support for at-risk youth, and trauma-informed therapy for adults and adolescents. Abby brings a deeply human, grounded, and nonjudgmental presence to her work, shaped by both lived experience and professional expertise.

At Mind Body Wellness, Abby provides psychotherapy for individuals navigating depression, anxiety, trauma, mood disorders, identity exploration, and life transitions. She also specializes in working with those who feel stuck—whether it’s due to chronic self-doubt, emotional numbness, or feeling unseen in more traditional therapy spaces.
Abby’s therapeutic approach is holistic, collaborative, and grounded in the understanding that healing is not linear. She integrates modalities such as Brainspotting, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT), Psychoanalytic Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, and parts work (IFS-informed). Nervous system regulation and co-regulation are at the core of her work, honoring both the body’s wisdom and the brain’s protective patterns.
Clients are welcomed exactly as they are—unsure, overwhelmed, messy, or even silent. Sessions may include curiosity-led inquiry, somatic awareness, deep emotional processing, or skill-building, depending on what feels most helpful. Abby believes in working with clients, not on them, and values adaptability, shared insight, and humor as vital parts of the healing process.
