What it is

Join us for a 2 night, 3 day retreat for people in helping and healing professions to make space for their own healing work

Our retreats take place in a beautiful natural setting just outside Frederick, Maryland on the ancestral lands of the Piscataway, Susquehannock and Tuscarora peoples. We are conveniently located approximately an hour from both Baltimore and DC.

This weekend retreat is rooted in a holistic approach to healing, and will include yoga and somatic practices, art, community connection, psychedelic medicine, homemade food, and plenty of space for reflection and downtime.

Our commitment is to supporting you, because we know that when you feel cared for, you can show up more fully in the world for the people you serve.

Why it matters

Healers need healing, too.

Holding space for others at this particular moment in time is deep work on so many levels. You are tending the suffering of others, all the while simultaneously navigating your own feelings and experience.

The consistent work of holding space for others can be heavy. Collectively, we are navigating global conflict, environmental and political instability, and economic uncertainty; your clients aren't facing it alone - you're holding all of this, too.

We wholeheartedly believe that you're here right now for a reason. This work is deeply sacred, essential, and challenging in its own unique ways. Your work matters.

Challenges like...

  • burnout
  • compassion fatigue
  • grief
  • rage
  • overwhelm with personal responsibilities
  • exhaustion in dealing with the intensity of current events while also holding space for others
  • low energy

..are side effects of holding space during this polycrisis, and likely are affecting your ability to show up for everything else in your life.

Holding space for others is a gift, and an immense responsibility different from other professions. In order to stay the course and do the work that you're meant to do, you also need space for your own personal care and growth.

We get it, because we're living it too. What we've learned is that we need each other. Healing together in community is the way forward.

Who is this for?

We intentionally designed this offering for therapists, caretakers, healers, body workers, doulas and midwives, teachers and space holders. If you're holding space for others in their healing, we want to hold space for you.

Here, you're not in a role of responsibility. It's not your job to hold the container. You get to just show up as yourself. You're invited to take off the masks, hats you wear, and the obligations of tending others, and let yourself receive and prioritize your own self care.

We've got you.

Our team of skilled professional facilitators understands the energetic lift of daily work as a clinician, therapist, teacher or space holder; we want to hold those roles for you this weekend so you can set them down.

All are welcome.

This retreat is a trauma-informed space open to all ethnicities, races, cultural identities, gender identities and expressions, religions and spiritual practices, and sexual orientations.

We commit to being a LGBTQIA+ celebrating, neuro-affirming, and anti-racist space.

We commit to a high ethical standard of practice, and will honor your confidentiality as a participant in this event.

Our approach to psychedelic medicine:

We offer acknowledgement and deep reverence to indigenous peoples who were the original stewards of psychedelic medicine and medicine work. While ketamine is a human-made compound, keepers of plant medicine have been partnering with altered states of consciousness through the use of psychedelics for thousands of years before us. Without their wisdom, we would not have the means to offer this modality as a path for healing.

What is Ketamine?

Ketamine Assisted Psychotherapy is a psychedelic healing modality that can help you cultivate powerful change, move through stuck patterns, and has the potential to create profound shifts in your life. Research has shown that this type of medicine work can be beneficial for folks experiencing treatment-resistant depression, anxiety, OCD, trauma, stuck patterns of behavior, thought rigidity, and those seeking personal exploration and growth.

As a healer, it's essential that you are engaging in your own personal work. The better you understand yourself and your patterns, the more effectively you're able to hold space for the people you serve. Not only that, but understanding your own experience can help you navigate the transference and countertransference that shows up in therapeutic relationships.

While each individual's experience is different, this treatment modality provides the potential to deepen your relationship with yourself and gain powerful insights about your patterns of behavior so that you can acknowledge and integrate what may feel stuck or challenging.

Time as a human invention

Reflecting on how we want to support you this weekend, we will encourage you to let go of a sense of time. We'll ask that you keep your phone in your room and use it only for essentials. We'll offer an outline of events so you know what to expect, but your agenda will contain no start and end times. We hold all of that for you, so you can let go of "shoulds" and "supposed to's", and simply enjoy the flow of the weekend without worrying about what time it is.
